Potentially, each one of us is a content writer.
And freelancing, especially content writing, has very low entry barriers.
It does not require any certifications or credentials.
Because of these low barriers, freelancing is very crowded at the entry-level.
So, to make a mark for ourselves and stand out, we need to focus on surviving during the initial years.
During this time, we need to hustle by:
• Prospecting crazily
• Being disciplined enough to focus our efforts on ourselves and not get distracted by what life throws at us.
• Writing prolifically across diverse domains & niches on multiple platforms, and
• Having visibility in the virtual world by showcasing quantity & quality of writing.
We have to out-hustle, out-write and out-market ourselves on a daily basis.
Of course, as usual, there will be outliers here too.
Yet, for most of us, it’s about putting our nose to the grindstone and putting in the work for the initial 1-2 years.
Are you willing to survive for the initial 1-2 years?
P.S. It is not the strongest of the species that survives nor the most intelligent, but the one most responsive to change.
