Today marks one year since the CEO of LinkedIn commented on my post…
… and changed my life forever!
On 24th September 2018, I met Jeff Weiner at an event in college.
I spoke to Jeff for a few minutes, asking him how I could make the most of LinkedIn as a student.
Jeff was kind enough to stop and talk to me and answer all my questions. He even saw my LinkedIn profile!
Later that night, I went to my room and posted my experience on LinkedIn, and went off to sleep.
The next day, on 25th September, I was in a lecture at 3pm, and my phone kept buzzing the whole time.
I finally checked my phone after the lecture.
My post had 3,500 likes, and Jeff had commented on my post!
For the next 3 days, that post kept going up, up, up. It received 14,000+ likes, and I got my first lead from LinkedIn through this post.
That’s when I understood what LinkedIn can do.
LinkedIn is not meant to be a resume, it’s meant to be an opportunity-creating platform.
I started writing more, and I shared posts on LinkedIn frequently.
That’s why I am here after all this time… still writing!
I am so grateful for this moment. Meeting Jeff, and him commenting on my post, propelled me to be here today.
