A stranger messages me on Instagram every few weeks.
She just sends me captions, asks me to check the grammar, and thanks me for my response.
She has been doing this for 5 months now.
She messaged me again today.
I finally asked her why she asks me for sentence correction.
After all, I don’t know her, and I don’t think she really knows I’m a writer.
She replied, “I came through your profile accidentally and saw that your English is very good. And also you are very helping and warm. So I contact you whenever I am confused.”
This is yet another one of those times when I realised:
If you write well, people don’t need to know you as a writer. People will know you for your writing.
I love being known for my creativity!
What would you like to be known for?
P.S. Legacy is not leaving something for people, it’s leaving something in people. — Peter Strople
