How to conquer stress!

I used to buy my groceries for the whole week.

Three different fruits, lots of veggies, yoghurt, milk…

Since individual pieces of fruits and veggies are expensive, I normally buy packets of 4-5.

I planned to cook and eat all the food during the week.

But I couldn’t always do that.

So, by the weekend most of my food would go bad.

This caused me immense stress.

I hate wasting food.
I hate wasting money.

I tried storing food in proper containers, keeping them in the fridge, keeping them on the table so I would remember to eat them… nothing helped.

Finally, I did two things:

1. Started grocery shopping 2-3 times a week and buying the minimal quantities
2. Got my fridge checked (turned out there was a problem.)

Yes, some things that cause stress are out of my control.

But, some things are in my control.

So why should I stress over problems that CAN be solved?

Yes, it takes effort to go to the shop 2-3 times a week.

But, it also brings me peace of mind!

With time I have realised that my mental peace is paramount.

And mental peace requires extra work!
